Collective

How to join

Synapti is a collective of operators, not a payroll. Everyone who works here has equity. Below is what that means in practice and how to start a conversation.

What this actually means

Everyone at Synapti has equity. When the collective creates value, that value flows back to the people who created it. This is not a perk wrapped around a salary, it is the structure.

In practice: you work on products, open-source standards, writing, or client engagements. You get paid for billable work at market rates. You also hold equity that grows as your contribution does. If Synapti grows, your stake grows with it. If a specific project ships value, the people who shipped it get the upside.

This is less stable than a salaried job. It is also higher upside if things go well, and the agency to choose what you work on is real.

The Slicing Pie model

We use Slicing Pie to track contribution and convert it to equity. Cash, time, deferred compensation, and IP each get logged at fair market value. Shares are calculated dynamically from the ledger rather than guessed once at incorporation. Nobody has to predict whose work will matter most before any work has happened.

Specifics get reviewed and signed before anyone commits. The legal structure is being finalized with attorneys, and the terms get disclosed in detail when a partnership conversation is real. If you want to read about the model now, the public Slicing Pie material covers most of it.

What we work on

Four output streams. Most members touch two of the four in any given quarter.

Products

Decipon today. Whatever ships next from the open-source work.

Open Source

Standards (UIM, ACS, ITP, MACA) and tools (marketplace, prompt-decorators, BDSK, lucid, SIARE).

Writing

Field reports, frameworks, the playbooks. Distribution and trust.

Client Work

Consulting and hybrid (cash plus equity) engagements with companies who need AI built well.

You pick where you focus based on interest and capacity. Stretches across streams are encouraged.

Who this is for

This works best if:

  • You have shipped AI systems to production. Not prototypes, not pilots. Things real users depend on.
  • You are comfortable with variable income.
  • You operate well with minimal supervision and high autonomy.
  • You communicate clearly in writing. Default mode here is async.
  • You want to build things that compound, not just bill hours.

Who this is not for

  • If you need stable income, this is not the right fit.
  • If you prefer clear direction over autonomy, this will frustrate you.
  • If you want a "consulting job" with interesting projects, that is not what this is.
  • If you have not yet shipped AI systems to production, get reps elsewhere first.

No judgment in any of those. Different people want different things.

How we grow

By endorsement. New members are sponsored by existing ones who have worked with them and stake their judgment on it. There is no application form because the form is the wrong substrate. The conversation is the substrate.

Start a conversation

No formal application. Email or book a call. Tell us what you have built, what you are interested in, and what you want from a working arrangement. We will reply with whether the fit looks plausible and what the next step would be.
